Terminology


Merchant

'Merchant' refers to a business or brand that uses the Kooomo platform to power their online store and/or operations. For example - Butlers, Havaianas, Avoca, etc.

Organization

'Organization' refers to the parent company of a particular merchant, if applicable. An organization could have several merchants belonging to it. For example, Space 2000 is an organization whose merchants include Bomboogie, AI Riders, Censured, and Hangar Eighteen. Similarly, Alpargatas is an organization of the merchant Havaianas. If a merchant doesn't have a parent company, the organization doesn't change - e.g. Butlers is a merchant and an organization.

User

'User' refers to the individuals who use the Kooomo platform.

Customer

'Customer' refers to the customers of merchants.

Partner

'Partner' refers to a technology or agency partner that is available to merchants through the Kooomo platform.

Glossary

AOM: (Automated Order Management) A set of customisable, dynamic rules and triggers used to automatically update the status of orders.

AOV: (Average Order Value) The average amount spent by a customer over a defined period of time.

App: (Application) A software program that runs on a specific device (e.g. web, mobile, etc).

API: (Application Programming Interface) A particular set of rules that enable various software programs to communicate with each other.

Breadcrumb: A navigation scheme that reveals a specific location on a website and links back to each section accordingly (e.g. Home > Resources > Reports).

CMS: (Content Management System) Software that enables users to create, edit, and manage digital content on a website.

Content ID: A specific six-digit number (e.g. 586105) that relates to a specific page, or component within the Kooomo CMS.

Content type: A method of linking to a typology in the Kooomo CMS, rather than to a specific content ID. (e.g. 2018_shops is a content type)

Custom link: A specific URL that users can choose to link content to within the Kooomo CMS.

CTA: (Call to Action) An image, button, or link that prompts web visitors to take a particular action (e.g. Download now, Request a Demo, etc).

DOM: (Distributed Order Management) A system whereby orders can be fulfilled from multiple locations (warehouses, retail stores, etc) in order to optimise stock management.

ERP System: (Enterprise Resource Planning) A system that integrates specific areas of a business (e.g. accounting, project management), to enable the flow of data between them.

IP Address: A unique identifier for every computers on the Internet or local networks.

Landing Page: A standalone web page.

OMS: (Order Management System) A system that is used by merchants and users to manage order entry and processing.

SEO: (Search Engine Optimisation) A method of increasing the quantity and quality of web content in order to increase traffic to a website through organic search results.

SaaS: (Software as a service) A software model where, rather than having a piece of software physically running on a computer, it is accessed through the internet through a web-browser interface.

Typology: A system of groupings in the Kooomo CMS from which content with a similar structure can be created.

TCO: (Total Cost of Ownership) An estimate of all direct and indirect costs associated with a particular purchase, generally relating to technology.

URL: A web address.

WMS: (Warehouse Management System) A system that is used by merchants and users to manage warehouse functionality and supply chain operations.
