Q. How do the payments work in Kooomo?
Most of the payment gateways support separate authorizing and capturing of money on cards. It’s like two-phase commit for payments.
- The Authorization phase basically locks the money in the customers bank account.
- The capture actually moves the money from customers bank account to the merchants bank account and is usually executed when an order is fulfilled or ready for shipping. In Kooomo, for most of the payment gateways, the capture is executed automatically when the order is fulfilled. There could be more than one capture per order, but the total sum of all of them shouldn't be bigger than the total amount initially authorized for that order.
