Promotion examples


Introduction

The following guide provides examples of various types of promotions. The onus is on the merchant to ensure their promotion is fully tested before it is made live.

1. 10% Off X Category

The customer receives 10% off products purchased from the category included in the promotion.

  • Discount Amount (Get Y) = The percentage discount to apply. In this case "Discount Amount (Get Y)=10".

2. 3 For The Price Of 2

The customer gets the cheapest product free if they purchase three products included in this promotion.

  • Y = The product the percentage discount will be applied to. In this case "N Percent Discount Order=cheapest". This means Y will be the cheapest product of the three items.
  • X = The minimum quantity the customer has to buy to get a discount for Y. In this case "X=2".
  • N = Percentage discount for Y. In this case "N=100%" (free).

3. Free Shipping On All Orders Over €100 Within Ireland

All orders greater or equal to €100 within Ireland will have free shipping.

  • Promotion zone = The zone the order must be shipped to in order to avail of free shipping. In this case "Promotion zone=Ireland".

4. 10% Off Order Using Coupon

The customer receives 10% of their order when they apply the specified coupon code at checkout.

  • Coupon Code = The code the customer enters at checkout to apply the promotion. In this case "Coupon Code=WELCOME".
  • Promotion Uses Per User = Defines the maximum number of times a user can use the promotion. In this case "Promotion Uses Per User=1".
  • Discount Amount (Get Y) = The percentage discount to apply. In this case its "Discount Amount (Get Y)=10".
  • Stop Further Promotions Processing = Define if this promotion can be used with other promotions. In this case "Stop Further Promotions Processing=Yes", therefore, no other promotions can be used alongside this promotion.

5. Buy 1 And Get 20% Off 2nd Item

The customer receives 20% off the cheapest product if they purchase two products included in this promotion.

  • Y = The product the percentage discount will be applied to. In this case "N Percent Discount Order=cheapest". This means Y will be the cheapest product of the 2 items.
  • X = The minimum quantity the customer has to buy to get a discount for Y. In this case "X=1".
  • N = Percentage discount for Y. In this case "N=20".
